Overview:
The SMART-2 Array controllers are based on an I/O architecture which enables breakthrough capabilities for managing high performance storage. With support for Wide-Ultra SCSI-3 Fast-Wide SCSI-2 or Fast-SCSI-2 the SMART-2DH Array controller ensures continuous high-performance system access with ensured fault tolerance. The 32-bit bus-master interface transfers information directly to system memory at up to 133MB per second. The enhanced command interface reduces command latency and maximizes transfer rates. The Intelligent Array engines split processing tasks between two engines working simultaneously one engine generates fault tolerance information and manages data flow while the other prepares and sorts array storage commands. The Enhanced Array Accelerator offers 16MB of ECC protected and battery-backed removable read/write cache to maximize I/O performance without sacrificing data integrity. The prediction of sequential operations and retrieval of data prior to a request further enhances performance. Da
