Overview:
The ProLiant DL740 with Intel Xeon processors hot-plug RAID memory and a full implementation of PCI-X I/O delivers the performance and uptime required to meet the current and future demands of enterprise server consolidation e-business database ERP thin client compute engine mail and messaging and data mining/warehousing applications. This 4U rack model is configured with four 2.7GHz Intel Xeon processors (upgradeable to eight) a 2MB L3 cache per processor integrated Smart Array 5i Plus controller with RAID 0 1 1+0 and 5 support and 4GB ECC SDRAM (upgradeable to 64GB). Since there are no pre-installed hard drives you are free to configure storage to your needs. The DL740 features an 8x24 (max. speeds) slimline CD/DVD-ROM drive in the Universal Media Bay a 3.5 1.44MB floppy drive four hot-plug hard drive bays (maximum internal storage capacity of 587.2GB) and six available PCI-X hot-plug slots. For your networking needs dual Compaq NC7781 PCI-X Gigabit Server Adapters are embedded. The integrated ATI RAGE XL graphics controller uses 8MB SDRAM to support millions of colors. Continuous cooling is provided by two hot-plug redundant fans. Intelligent Manageability features include Remote Insight Lights Out Edition support.
