This 4U rack model is configured with four 2.8GHz Intel Xeon processors (upgradeable to eight) a 2MB L3 cache per processor integrated Smart Array 5i Plus controller with RAID 0 1 1+0 and 5 support and 4096MB ECC SDRAM (upgradeable to 64GB). Since there are no pre-installed hard drives you are free to configure storage to your needs. The DL740 features an 8X (max. speed) slimline DVD-ROM drive a 3.5 1.44MB floppy drive four hot-plug hard drive bays (maximum internal storage capacity of 587.2GB) and six available PCI-X hot-plug slots. For your networking needs dual Compaq NC7781 PCI-X Gigabit Server Adapters are embedded.
