Overview:
The DLT 20/40 GB Tape Drive offers a transition from the DLT 15/30 GB Tape Drive to a higher capacity and performance tape device which has become the de facto standard in the industry. The DLT 20/40 GB Tape Drive provides up to 20 GB of native capacity on a single DLT Type IV tape and up to 5.6 GB per hour data transfer rate without compression in native mode. With a 2:1 compression rate the DLT 20/40 GB Tape Drive provides up to 40 GB of backup capacity on a single tape at up to 10.8 GB per hour data transfer rate. The DLT 20/40 GB Tape Drive continues to offer configurations for Compaq Server in tower or rack mount environments DLT tape array or as a standalone drive. The DLT 20/40 GB Tape Drive features backward read/write compatibility to lower capacity DLT 10/20 and DLT 15/30 GB tapes. This feature offers investment protection for current customers that have standardized on DLT. The DLT 20/40 GB Tape Drive is a thoroughly tested and integrated Compaq hardware option with support for major industry leading backup software solutions.
